1.      Your main fandom of the year: A Song of Ice and Fire (is there anything else? :-))

2.     Your favourite film this year: I saw remarkably few, but Les Misérables was enjoyable.

3.     Your favourite book this year: To my absolute shock and horror I realise I haven’t really read proper books this year! *hangs head in shame* Mostly just ‘stories by unpublished authors over internet’… This has never happened before and this lapse I swear to fix in the upcoming year!

angst LoM

4.      Your favourite album or song this year: Lana Del Rey ‘Born to Die’ (I was so slow to find her…glad that I did, eventually!)

5.     Your favourite TV show this year: I watch horrendously little that either – but ‘Homeland’ and ‘Elementary’ were my staples that I followed faithfully.

6.     Your favourite LJ community this year: Sansa_Sandor of course!

7.     Your best new fandom discovery of the year: Not exactly fandom (?), but if ‘The Shield’ in WWE counts, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Shield_(professional_wrestling)would be it!

8.      Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year: To see otherwise perfectly reasonable appearing people hurting each other in Tumblr over…trivial things.

banging head

9.      Your TV/movie boyfriend of the year: Same as last year, Damian Lewis. For example from ‘Homeland’ but also from oh, so many other things. True love doesn’t falter!

10.      Your TV/movie girlfriend of the year: Lucy Liu is a wonderful example of a sensible no-nonsense and yet feminine woman (in ‘Elementary’).

11.     Your biggest squee moment of the year: When I saw that Starbird1 had written a holiday-exchange gift to me filling not one, not two but all three of my wish prompts!

lets go

12.      Your most missed old fandom: Don’t have any…

13.     Your fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to? Same as last year, if there would be a fandom for ‘Devil’s Whore’…I suspect not, as I haven’t found one – also it is only a short TV series/telemovie, so probably doesn’t have the longevity required for a ‘proper’ fandom.

14.      Your biggest anticipation of the New Year: Big things happening at work. Either burn or bust!

15.     Your Writing (if applicable):
15.1.  Total Words: 334,479
Whoa, that many!? The list below shows when a story start was posted. All have been published in http://archiveofourown.org/users/LadyTP/worksexcept when otherwise specified (most of those are on their way to AO3 as well when I get around to it).

          13,168

15.2.       Your favourite own story of this year: Must be ‘The Triangle’ – it was my favourite baby and the satisfaction of finally finishing it was just amazing!

15.3.       Most fun story to write: ‘The Prophecy’ – partly as it came about in little dribs and drabs on my big overseas holiday, so I associate other fun things with it.

15.4.       Your sexiest story: Hmmm, none have been overly so…maybe ‘The Look’, as it was really focussed on sensuality and sexiness, even though there was no touching!

15.5.        Your story with the single sexiest moment: I maybe partial, but in Chapter 51 of ‘The Triangle’, where the three of them ended slumbering in one bed after the celebrations, and Sandor woke up…and it was all so subtle and quiet and unreal…

Mists of Avalon4

15.6.         Your story that shifted your own perceptions of the characters: ‘A Chance Encounter’, where I purposefully tried to channel more brutal and coarse Sandor and realised that he is actually pretty appealing nonetheless.

15.7.        Your hardest story to write: The last five chapters of ‘The Triangle’ were a bit hard to push through…just because it was getting so long and I didn’t want to let it go stale and tediously overwrought.

16.     Best story(ies)  you read this year: Geezz…there were so many…one that stood out because it was different was by Zmeischa: Things preserved and things losthttp://archiveofourown.org/works/871802/chapters/1674628

17.     The sexiest story(ies) you read this year: This would have to be by Luvxena: Take My Breath Away
http://archiveofourown.org/works/584264/chapters/1049617 …I am living in hope that she would continue it, as it is still WIP…

18.     The story with the single sexiest moment you read this year: If this is limited to stories published in 2013, I say by Okieday17 (and surprise, it is Jon/Arya!) ‘In My Life I Love You More’ http://archiveofourown.org/works/727311. If stories I read in 2013 are allowed, and if a story that in its entirety is a single, sexy moment, that would be by Ghostrelic: ‘Pursuit’ http://archiveofourown.org/works/684108 – whoa!

19.      The story you read this year that shifted your own perceptions of the characters: Maybe by Starbird1 ‘Seven More’ http://archiveofourown.org/works/754063/chapters/1408624 as even though it depicts young, innocent and guileless Sansa, she doesn’t annoy me as much as most pre-teens do…

20.     Biggest Disappointment: To see how some careless words and brief moments of hotheadedness in public forums can upset people and cause fandom drama beyond what the original topic (which varies) warrants for… in the worst case making well-meaning but passionate people coming to blows. In the even worst case, sometimes even innocents may get hurt…

21.      Biggest Surprise: To find out how easily I was drawn to the wonderful and terrible world of Tumblr…I swear that was not my intention!

22.     Your fanfic or profic goals for the New Year: To finish the last few WIPs, post unposted work on AO3 and then explore further different writing challenges, be it style, tone, format or characters…indeed, I would like to explore characters beyond sansan. Also, to take it a bit easier and not have 4 WIPs going on at a time, as I had at one point!

23.     I'd like to thank the academy... (Thanks to your betas, frequent commenters/supporters, the people who stayed up with you late...) Oh my, this list is getting more and more populated as time goes on… Mostly I am in debt to my wonderful and supportive beta [livejournal.com profile] wildsky_sheri who patiently corrects my misuse of prepositions and raps my knuckles for word repetition and such… I am still in debt to [livejournal.com profile] the_moonmoth for being a gateway to this wonderful world… [livejournal.com profile] littlefeather and her sensibility has renewed by belief in human kindness if it has ever faltered…Thank you [livejournal.com profile] dragonsupernova for introducing me to the new fandom of The Shield… And many, many people who inspire me and encourage me to continue in this fandom with their wonderful and supportive comments and interactions in Tumblr - you know who you are! You are aces!

thanks for listing your work under item 15.1 :) I read the wedding, and enjoyed it a lot!!! Of course, it is true for all of your work. I am so glad I signed up for an account here over the break, otherwise, catching up on all the great stories over here would've been torture. Going back to work tomorrow and feeling pretty accomplished on my reading of fan fiction. But... did i read either of the 3 books I wanted to read? no...

Ha ha, I know excatly what you mean about reading "real" books! *still hanging head in shame*

But if you enjoyed yourself, that's the main thing!!

"But... did i read either of the 3 books I wanted to read? no..."
Haha, that could be me. Well, at least I managed 1 1/2, but ever since I've got into fandom I've barely read any books....

I am in the same boat. I am "fortunate" to fly a lot, so that's when I read books! Can't go online to read fan fiction :)

Ugh, flying is always my horror!
On a different note: I'm toying with the thought to buy an e-reader, but so far I've withstood the temptation. The last time I was traveling I decided not to bring along my netbook - and what happened? Urgency purchase of a paper notebook and the beginning of my "puppet" fanfic. But back to the point: Grrm has seemingly changed many people's reading habits. That he needs so much time to write his books is a real boost for fandom. :-)
And I can safely say that I prefer LadyTP's wonderful stories to quite a few rubbish novels I had the bad luck to start reading.

I am resisting buying the e-reader. I have read only 1 book electronically - that was for my (now defunct) book club, and somebody just emailed it to me. It was alright, but nothing compares to the paper novel. I also feel that you have that book around your house, you will read it eventually. electronic version just won't do it.

I agree about LadyTP's stories! And I am enjoying your "puppet" story as well!

Ha, this is funny how people's preferences vary... as soon as I got my grubby little hands on an e-book the first time, I have not wanted to look back! And I don't even have any e-book reader - just a laptop with 'Kindle for PC' installed.

I read all ASOIAF books as e-books and found it preferable to real books.. Then again, I might have some background reasons: I have always used libraries a lot rather than bought my books, and consider books as 'transient in a physical sense anyway (here one day, gone the next). So in that sense e-books on my computer drive are more permanent for me to hold on than physical books.

And why I have never liked the idea of buying books has less to do with being frugal, but just that THEY TAKE SO MUCH SPACE! Having moved so many times in my life, just the idea of packing them and carting them along is too much... But that's just me - we all have our preferences...

I also like flying; overseas trip of 24-34 hours is breeze, and an uninterrupted flight of 12-16 hours is just a good chance to catch up on my reading, writing and latest movies... again, each to their own! :-)

"...but nothing compares to the paper novel."
This is so true! I was only thinking of the fanfics which sadly aren't available as paper books. *sigh*
